Not everyone gets a bike when they are very young. In fact, the author of this particular post didn't learn to ride until he hit double digits. It is not as rare as you may think. Bikes are not always freely accessible to everyone. Fortunately, there are balance bikes that are perfect for older kids. Below are a few we think are great:
Kazam balance bike
This is a great bike to learn to balance on and is good for kids around 3-6 years old. It has limited assembly and is a metal framed bike. It can also act a bit like a scooter. There is no middle bar to get stuck on which can reduce the number of falls, and type of falls that can occur. Falls happen far less frequently on a balance bike but they do happen sometimes. We love this bike and in Canada, it is one of the most sought out balance bikes for bigger and older children.
Glide bikes - Mini Glider & Go Glider
Glide Bikes make a couple of great bikes for older children. The first is the mini Glider and the second is the Go Glider. Both have the unique foot pedals that gliderbikes are known for, an ability to rest your feet on foot pegs as you coast along. These are removed easily if you don't want them on.
Mini Glider Bike - this is perfect for 2-5 year old children.
Go Glider Bike - this is perfect for 5-10 year old children.
